Francesco Cingolani

Francesco Cingolani and founder and director of the Specialized Master in Design by Data in Parametric Design and Digital Construction at the Ecole des Ponts ParisTech.

 

An architect and engineer by training, convinced that innovation occurs by creating connections between different fields, he has developed architectural, urban planning, art and communication projects and collaborated with renowned architects (Jean Nouvel, Hugh Dutton), artists (Tomás Saraceno, Thomas Heatherwick), town planners (Ecosistema Urbano) and taught architectural design in several schools of architecture and design in France and abroad.

 

Francesco is also the co-founder of the Parisian third-place Volumes (2014) where he develops applied research projects on the themes of digital design and manufacturing, the circular economy and the productive city. Volumes was recently winner of the Reflow research project (European H2020 Program) and is developing in this context a training and incubation offer in the field of material reuse.

 

Francesco co-founded in 2016 the Fab City Grand Paris association which brings together more than 30 organizations from Greater Paris working in the field of the city and productive territories. As part of his commitment to the Fab City initiative, he is a member of the board of directors of the Fab City foundation, which coordinates the activity of the 28 member cities of the network.
